Summary

TODAY All-male vocal group Ladysmith Black Mambazo are at the Music Hall in Aberdeen as part of their world tour celebrating 10 years of democracy in South Africa. The Grammy-winners have worked with Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder and Dolly Parton, they sang at President Mandela's 1994 inauguration and have come to symbolise traditional South African culture. Oh, and their harmonies featured on a Heinz beans ad. The name Mambazo comes from the Zulu word for axe, a reference to their ability to cut down the competition. Tickets: 01224 341122. MONDAY R'n'B lovelies Destiny's Child finally release Destiny Fulfilled, their long-awaited group album following three years of solo projects. The band have been the world's bestselling female pop group for years, but fans were wondering if they would ever see Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams together again. The new album silences rumours that Beyonce, by far the most successful of the three, would not be willing to regroup. The first single, Lose My Breath, was released two weeks ago and a world tour is expected in 2005. See review, page 26.
