Glasgow Hawks won the BT Premiership for the first time yesterday at Goldenacre although they kept their travelling support waiting until the 65th minute before Steve Begley claimed the fourth try that secured the bonus point and the championship. It was just as well that the tries came because, with fly-half Michael Rainey missing four of his five conversions, Hawks were never going to win this one with the boot.
This is the first time any side from Glasgow had lifted the championship though those with a long memory might argue that West of Scotland won the last unofficial title back in 1973.See the full content of this document
