IT is hard to imagine Galashiels ever figuring in any tale of two cities, but that hoary old Dickensian line about the best and worst of times could scarcely have been more appropriate than in the contrast between the sides at Netherdale yesterday evening.

For the Ospreys of Swansea, the elation of a victory that brought them the Magners League title for the second time in three years; for the Border Reivers, the all-too-familiar dejection of defeat that brought down the curtain on their brief and troubled life.
