SIR Alex Ferguson only watched Dion Dublin out of courtesy. "I had difficulty imagining that we were talking about a man who could make an impact with Manchester United, " Ferguson recalled of the time he was sent a videotape by Cambridge United manager John Beck and encouraged to consider his striker, Dublin, for Old Trafford. But what Ferguson then saw on screen back in 1992 was "a revelation", a highlights package he still regards as one of the most surprisingly impressive he has watched from hundreds sent to him over the years by managers and agents.
