Standard Life boss insists staff losses will not hit standards SANDY Crombie, chief executive of Standard Life, insists that the mutual assurer can maintain service standards despite shedding 1500 staff - 18% of its workforce.

He said: "I'm utterly convinced that we can. We have been going through these staff issues very carefully and very delicately, because, obviously, these are people that we've known and worked with for many years. We have managed to keep our service standards as high as ever.
