THREE years after charging into the away dressing room at the St Jakob's Park in Basel, turning off the music, and admonishing Hearts players for celebrating a hardearned Uefa Cup group stage win, Anatoly Byshovets is back. The man who was Vladimir Romanov's original choice as director of football is now head coach of Lokomotiv Moscow, and when he arrives at the technical area at Pittodrie on Thursday night, it should be noted that he has still not managed to put controversy behind him.

Byshovets is universally acknowledged as one of the Soviet Union's greatest ever strikers, having inspired Dynamo Kyiv to four Soviet titles and having scored four goals in the 1970 World Cup finals, but his reputation as a manager is notably less secure.
