Her parents didn't mind much, either, even if it meant she missed her last A-level exam and blew her chance of a place at university studying psychology. Her father did at least advise a back-up plan, she says, "but my mum was the complete opposite. She just said 'Go for it - and if you don't get it, worry about that afterwards'."

Cameron did go for it. She got it, too, and now performs nightly in Cirque du Soleil's long-running Quidam show.

Regrets? None so far.
