NOBODY involved in the games development sector will need reminding of how tough a year 2004 turned out to be. The old year saw an estimated 60 games development companies go out of business in the UK with three of those in Scotland, with the latter number not including the Vis Interactive part of Chris Kuyl's Vis Entertainment empire which also failed.

As we report today, Scottish games companies, such as Simian Industries, are coming to terms with the realities of the tough conditions in the computer, mobile and console games development world.
