ALLOWING that few players get faster in their thirties, Scotland captain Christian Dailly often looked off the pace in his 60th international yesterday. Playing in an unaccustomed position on the right of a five man midfield, the West Ham defender found himself embarrassed by the speed of United States left winger DaMarcus Beasley, one of the visitors' most effective players.

Dailly's first contribution was to clatter into his 23-yearold opponent, conceding a harmless free kick near the half way line. His second foul, a barge in the back of the PSV Eindhoven player inside the Scotland box in the eighth minute, proved more costly.
