YOU might expect the convener of Glasgow's parks and facilities committee to be upset by the headline "Urban green spaces are 'wastelands'", (News, February 6) but I welcome the publicity the Greenspace Scotland survey findings have generated.
Glasgow City Council has identified key issues (safety being one) and is about to publish an implementation plan to achieve significant improvements to Glasgow's parks and open spaces. Central government recognition of the significance of parks and open spaces in contributing to improving health and the quality of life in urban Scotland should be backed up by additional funding.See the full content of this document
