IT is a great achievement for Wayne Rooney to be doing so well at Euro 2004 and you can see his confidence growing with every game. Everyone seems to be talking about him but I'm worried about an element of it becoming a bit of a witchhunt. I don't see anyone from Wayne's side, or anyone from Everton's side, saying anything about him being transferred and yet there is endless speculation. My point of view is that Wayne should remain an Everton player. Everton have been going through hard times and my aim is to improve them with Wayne Rooney's help.

People have said he may be at the peak of his value on the transfer market and about records being broken but in that case I would answer with a question: who could afford him then? I've said before I think there's only one club that could, but that doesn't mean we want to sell.
