THE world of Dell is a wonderful place to be these days. While rivals HewlettPackard and IBM are shedding thousands of jobs following disappointing sales figures, Dell's chief executive Kevin Rollins can take pleasure in doubledigit growth in shipments of its desktops, laptops, printers, services, enterprise hardware and associated products.

The good news pipeline is never-ending: from new factories planned for China and central Europe to the recent establishment of a sales and service call centre in Glasgow, which will employ 300 people by the year end.
