A CROSS-PARTY consensus has formed at Edinburgh City Council over the need to press ahead with controversial plans for the closure of primary schools and nurseries in the capital.
Despite the unpopularity of closures among parents and continuing political squabbles over the mishandling of the issue, Liberal Democrat, SNP and Labour councillors now agree rationalisation is necessary, and will tomorrow establish a forum to work out which schools will be axed.See the full content of this document
