It's nine in the morning, I am being rattled about in a large tin box, and a robot is shrieking at me in French. I am shaken and confused. I realise that on Disney's George Lucas-designed Star Tours ride a certain amount of bone-juddering is to be expected, and I don't mind the crack-of-dawn approach to beat the crowds, but why the hell is this crazed android speaking French?

Disney is America, Mickey has to be the US's most widely travelled ambassador. Disneyland Paris is surely a US cultural territory, I thought we would be holidaying in France, under American law.
