The Lanarkshire Enterprise Zone set up after the steel and heavy industry job losses has proved an efficient and cost-effective creator of replacement jobs, according to a study to be published this week.
Research conducted into the decade-long life of the zone from February 1993 to 2003 showed that it created 8253 jobs in Lanarkshire, above the zone's 7493 target.See the full content of this document
