I HAVE a friend who likes to scarf vitamins, munch on revoltingly raw alfalfa sprouts, drink disgusting herbal teas, knock back soya milk, eat dried fruit and nuts all day long and make her own cabbage soup which she brings to work and slurps at her desk.
Well, you might say, good on her, healthy girl, she'll live to 100 that 'un. But she cheerfully admits that she does all this so that she can enjoy (probably soya) milk-based vodka cocktails by the bucketload, happy in the knowledge that she has done everything to protect her system in advance. It's a strange, rather Scottish logic, but itworks for her.
