THE second bomb scare that forced a passenger plane to divert to Prestwick Airport under escort from fighter jets was yesterday confirmed as a hoax.

Police revealed the Aer Arann flight, which was travelling from Luton to Galway with 53 people on board, had undergone a security sweep by bomb specialists at the Ayrshire airport and that no device had been found.
