THE deputy first minister is facing further questions over his breach of expenses guidelines, after it emerged that he and his wife would have been entitled to extra tax breaks on a property bought with the help of public money.

Nicol Stephen and his wife were in line to benefit from at least GBP15,000 in capital gains exemptions through jointly buying a house paid for partly by the taxpayer. Stephen would only have been able to receive half that amount in tax relief if the property had been in his name only.
