THE new director-general of the National Galleries of Scotland (NGS) has described securing one of the UK's most important private collections of modern art as a "major priority" of his tenure.
In an interview with the Sunday Herald, John Leighton, who took the reins at the NGS last month, said acquiring the private collection of art dealer Anthony d'Offay, which includes some 700 works by names such as Andy Warhol and Damien Hirst, would provide a "platform for the future" for the galleries.See the full content of this document
