A man arrested in raids probing alleged illegal-worker networks has been remanded in custody. Victor Solomka, 43, was accused of conspiracyto facilitate entry of illegal immigrants into the UK.

He was one of more than 40 people arrested on Thursday in a series of co-ordinated dawn raids in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Aberdeen, Essex and London, following an eight-month investigation into the alleged employment of illegal immigrants by gangmasters.
