In derbies, the result is all-important. This victory wasn't pretty, nor was it deserved, but with Dundee United still sorely missing the creativity of Danny Swanson and Chris Conway, Peter Houston said it was all he hoped for and more.
"You don't always need to be in derbies, but you need to be gritty and you need to be solid," he said.
