THE death of a Gurkha soldier in one of the bloodiest days for UK forces in Afghanistan has heaped more pressure on the government to review residency rights for ageing Nepalese soldiers who ght for Britain.

Corporal Kumar Pun, from the 1st Battalion The Royal Gurkha RiBETA es, was among four soldiers killed and five injured on Thursday in three separate attacks across the south of the country. The attack also left at least 16 Afghan civilians dead and more than 30 wounded, according to the Nato-led International Security Assistance Force.
