SO that's the big, swingeing dramatic change in the coaching set- up. Everything stays pretty well as it was. Okay, Frank Hadden will spend tomorrow morning evicting himself from the Big Brother house, as the cabin that serves the Edinburgh team as its headquarters is dubbed, and moving himself into the rather more comfortable surroundings of the Murrayfield offices. But after that, it is steady as you go for at least the next six months.

The need for change arose because Hadden has accepted that he cannot be coach of both Scotland and Edinburgh and has pulled the plug on his club role five days before they play the first derby of the season, against Glasgow, and a week before he welcomes players from all three Scotland sides plus a smattering of England-based Scots to his first training camp.
