Summary


Three years ago, the world changed for ever when three commercial airliners slammed into the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon, slaughtering thousands of innocent people and ushering in a new age of global terrorism. It was an event so numbing and so shocking that the rest of the world poured out its sympathy to the US as people attempted to come to terms with the atrocity and what it implied.

A new age had begun but little did we know what it would usher in. In the world that emerged, President Bush and his security team used the opportunity to unleash their vision of a new world order which insisted on US hegemony and the dominance of their superpower strength. Out went international consensus and in came an arrogant style which alienated the rest of the world as Washington rode roughshod over the United Nations and world opinion.
