The refreshed Smart Successful Scotland has been met with a pretty mixed reaction. There are questions over the document and its clarity of thinking in places (see Balancing Act column right).
But at a basic level we should at least be happy that while there have been some minor tinkerings the policy baby has not been thrown out with the political bath water as it has come under public criticism. This has to be a long-term strategy, worked towards energetically, consistently over the long-term for it to effect real change.See the full content of this document
