New legislation to curb the activities of sexual predators who use the internet to lure children will be introduced by the Scottish Executive this week, when ministers announce their legislative programme for the new parliamentary term.
Under legislation introduced "to protect youngsters at home and abroad", it is understood that a new offence will apply to sexual offenders who attempt to meet a young person after "grooming" them on the internet. The new offence of sexual grooming will carry a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.See the full content of this document
