Summary
It's been too long since writer-director Mike Mills' first feature, Thumbsucker, an intelligent, highly original take on teenage angst. But Beginners was certainly worth the wait. This is a gorgeous film, one that deals with heavy hitting themes - love, loss, family, memory and the fear of commitment - with a lightness of touch that leaves one thoughtful and beguiled.
