Summary
I KNOW the players I will be rooting for at Wimbledon and it won't be based on my favourite, their nationality or even personality. The television will hear me scream and shout for the likes of Tomas Zib or Greta Arn.
You see I made the mistake of telling my wife that I would fill in her Wimbledon Wallchart which she received free with her newspaper last week. What I didn't realise was that due to the rise of Eastern European tennis and the demise of British tennis there would be no Smiths or Blacks to enter into the chart. No, I had to hand write Katarina Srebotnik, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Nikolay Davydenko and Philipp Kohlschreiber. And let's not forget the 14 Argentine players who average 96 letters in their surname eg Juan Ignacio Chela, David Nalbandian. OK, so I slightly exaggerate the amount of letters but you try completing a wall chart that has more Ks and Zs than a Russian telephone directory.See the full content of this document
