TWO Liberal Democrat MSPs whose use of the Holyrood mortgage scheme led to far-reaching reform of politicians' allowances boycotted the vote on the perk's abolition last week.

Party leader Nicol Stephen and his finance spokesman Tavish Scott declined to press their buttons during the vote on expenses despite the fact they participated in other votes minutes before MSPs decided to reform their own allowances.
