A FEW days after she was named in Scotland's Commonwealth Games team, Lee McConnell's coach made a bold prediction based on her potential rather than her immediate medal prospects in Melbourne. According to Roger Harkins, she could "take the event apart at the highest level".

The event is the 400m hurdles and Harkins is not alone in thinking the 27year-old Glaswegian has what it takes to be one of the best in the world at one of track and field's most demanding of disciplines.
