UK parents spend around (pounds) 38 billion a year raising their children, excluding the cost of education. According to research by internet bank Egg, this total equates to about (pounds) 2790 for every boy and (pounds) 2916 per girl, giving a total of (pounds) 47,430 and (pounds) 49,572 for the first 17 years of their lives. While 1780,000 affluent children may have more than (pounds) 20,000 spent on them annually, the research also found that some 631,000 children are provided with significant financial support from their parents beyond the age of 30.See the full content of this document
