IAIN Macwhirter, in investigative mode, forays out to report back to us how the small independent countries once referred to by Alex Salmond as the "arc of prosperity" (and later mocked by Jim Murphy as the "arc of insolvency") are coping with the crisis (The arc of darkness, Opinion, June 7). These oft-quoted countries comprise Norway, Ireland and Iceland. So . . . off to Oslo first, then? After all, out of the three of them Norway is most similar to Scotland.
