David Orr takes obvious pride as he shows visitors round the City Inn Westminster. The chief executive of a group which not everybody knows is Scottish is clearly very happy with the standard of design and decor of this, its flagship hotel.

And the hotel is stylish, and well designed, by London-based Scottish architect Rab Bennetts, a fact that led to its winning a Royal Institute of British Architects award earlier this year.
