GIVEN the threat of legal action hanging in the air, the powerbrokers at the SPL might be advised to each take a lawyer along to Hampden when they convene on Tuesday to effectively decide whether there will be promotion or relegation come the end of the season.

Of course, that is not what the various chairmen, chief executives and club administrators are officially meant to be debating amid the raft of issues they will vote on, but the outcome will be the same nonetheless.
