BOUTIQUE hotels: the triumph of style over substance? With regard to the substance known as hot water, that was indeed the conclusion we were coming to as we tried to run a bath in the Adamo Hotel in Bridge of Allan. However, after a crash course in how to use the achingly fashionable controls from the helpful hotel staff, we were gurgling as contentedly as the plumbing.
Our top-floor suite was comfortable and spacious, but the real star of the show was unquestionably to be found in the restaurant, where we enjoyed an exquisite dinner. The hotel majors on taste in the Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen sense, but it hits all the right notes in the Gordon Ramsay sense too. The Adamo's modest exterior belies luxuries that are well worth looking out.See the full content of this document
