The objections to Gordon Brown becoming prime minister are not racism, as Macwhirter suggests. The word is now usually used by people as a means to shut down any discussion. It is commonly used these days to browbeat the English into accepting anything a whole raft of left-wing apologist Anglophobes want to force onto them.
