Rory Murder Prompts Truancy Review Local Authorities Plan New Scheme to Report Absent Pupils in Wake of Schoolboy Murder Probe
A majority of authorities in the country have taken up a pilot scheme for the new Truancy Call system whereby an automated system repeatedly phones a parent until someone answers. It also allows e- mails and text messages to be sent when a child fails to attend lessons.
