THE Copa America has a lot to answer for. It was little more than a season after the 18-year-old Sebastian Rozental stood out in an admittedly misfiring Chile side in the 1995 South American championship in Uruguay that the player and his father Lazzaro were checking in under Walter Smith at Ibrox in return for the princely sum of (pounds) 3.5m.

Before long, injuries, lack of fitness, loan spells and a string of expensive new strikers would make sightings of him during his astonishingly long five-year tenure at the club less frequent than Lord Lucan, but the Glasgow club still reside in Rozental's thoughts.
