TORY chiefs were last night facing a damaging battle after MP Howard Flight refused to quit.

Flight resigned as deputy party chairman on Thursday after saying the Tories were hiding the true scale of their spending cuts. But he is refusing to give up his safe seat despite the leadership's insistence he will not be a Tory candidate at the general election.
