SCOTLAND'S film industry is on a par with a Third World country, the director of Screen Academy Scotland has told the Sunday Herald. Robin MacPherson, who runs Screen Academy Scotland, the country's effective Film School, also said that unless the nation produces at least 20 movies a year - four times the current amount - Scotland should forget having a stable, viable and profitable film industry.
According to MacPherson, if the country hits this magic number the share at the box office of Scots movies would increase from less than one per cent to 10 per cent, making it a functioning national industry.See the full content of this document
