SKY Sports' hour-long documentary on Aberdeen's glory years began with Willie Miller effortlessly mopping up after someone else's error. Ah, just like the old days. It was that smooth broadcaster Jeff Stelling, of all people, who made an uncharacteristic slip when he asked how it had felt when "Alex McLeish" arrived to be Aberdeen manager in 1978. McLeish? Come on Jeff, you must have heard of Alex Ferguson? Miller simply gave a forgiving chuckle and got on with his answer.

So began Time of Our Lives - Dandy Dons (Sky Sports 1, Monday and Thursday), 60 minutes of Stelling easing reminiscences out of three Pittodrie legends relaxing around a coffee table. Miller, McLeish and Mark McGhee traded anecdotes and observations as Stelling quickly returned to form and oiled the conversation with his usual light touch. It was all there: the impact of Ferguson's arrival in the north-east, coming south to beat the Old Firm in Glasgow, winning the league, winning the cups, overcoming Bayern Munich and Real Madrid en route to the 1983 European CupWinners' Cup. No wonder it was on after the watershed: for Aberdeen supporters this was Gothenburg porn.
