THE new chairman of Scottish Opera has admitted that the company will get no increase in public subsidy and must raise (pounds) 2 million a year for itself.

William Taylor QC, who was appointed to the unpaid post last week, said a definitive report commissioned by the Scottish Arts Council (SAC) showed the company needed funding of (pounds) 9.5m a year.
