S ebastian Vettel stunned his Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber in qualifying for today's Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai, beating the Australian by over two tenths of a second. It was Vettel's third pole position of the season and made it a clean sweep of poles for the Red Bull team in the first four events.

But there were some major surprises, not least the performance of Lewis Hamilton, who dominated the practice sessions and was on top in the first two parts of qualifying, only to fall to sixth in the crucial final session. Team-mate Jenson Button was one place ahead.
