Shinty: Glenorchy Bring Down Skye

Summary

Glenorchy, relegated from Shinty's Premier Division at the end of last season, boosted their faint hopes of a quick return to the top flight after a 2-1 home win over Skye in National Division One. The win moves Glenorchy into second place in the league although they trail leaders Lochaber by seven points. A win for the league leaders in next weekend's top of the table clash at Spean Bridge would see Lochaber clinch the title and promotion to the Premier Division for the first time in their history.

Yesterday all the goals came in the first half with Glenorchy's James Livingston opening the scoring in the first minute. Skye levelled in the 10th minute through Keith MacKenzie but Keith MacIntyre's strike in the 42nd minute proved to be the winner.
