THE gap between Labour and the SNP in Glasgow East has narrowed dramatically, although Labour is set to survive the SNP threat, according to the first opinion poll to come from the constituency since campaigning began more than a week ago. Although the SNP claimed it was "on course" to cause a shock, the ICM poll in the Sunday Telegraph and Sunday Mirror shows SNP candidate John Mason trailing some 14 points behind Labour's Margaret Curran.
