Bootroom 101: Ian Poulter Taking the mickey out of the clothes that golfers wear is nothing new - a comedy staple for decades, the history of golf shows that the first such incident dates back to the 15th century when, in the Kingdom of Fife, a golfing neophyte exclaimed: "Yon trews make ye look like a lass!" in an attempt to distract his opponent from striking a pebble cleanly with his stick.

But sometimes there comes a man who can clear away the cliches and introduce a whole new generation to the sort of sartorial atrocities that would be unacceptable anywhere else on the planet, but are somehow de rigeur on the golf course.
