SCOTLAND'S children's commissioner has warned of the risk of youngsters becoming "pariahs of modern society", with people too afraid to work with them in case they are blamed when things go wrong.

Kathleen Marshall also warned against "knee-jerk reactions" to finding people to blame for cases including the 11-year-old girl who collapsed in a Glasgow school suffering from heroin withdrawal, and five-year-old Danielle Reid, who was killed at the hands of her mother's drug-abusing boyfriend.
