THE Clydesdale Bank has recruited a series of leading business figures as a "secret weapon" in a new wave of financial centres which are being run almost as stand-alone businesses.

Former Scottish Dealmaker of the Year, Peter Shakeshaft, until recently chief executive of the Archangel business syndicate, and Lanarkshire-based entrepreneur Jim Cooper are among the recently appointed chairmen of the bank's Financial Solutions Centres (FSC).
